Description:
- The theme is designed based on Palestine in night time, with the playable character, the cat representing the resistance of the youth still doing whatever they can to fight for the homeland deep into the night, while the collectable keys representing the symbol of the right to return home one day. There was supposed to be a wolf and landmines representing the colonial occupying forces, but due to the actual colonial occupying forces continuing to eradicate our people I did not have the capacity to finish this game properly. But just like the cat, we have to keep running, because there is no other choice for us, younger kittens depend on us.
Difficulties I encountered:
- Mental health, and time are the biggest difficulties I have encountered. I feel sad that I didn’t have the capacity to start this sooner because I felt myself getting extremely creative and I know I could’ve easily designed sprites myself since I have 7+ years of experience of using photoshop and video editing so a lot of the Unity tools felt very familiar. But I just want to hand this in now as soon as I can so just doing what I can as fast as possible in 24 hours.
- Only at the last minute did I realize that the cat sprite I downloaded had no jumping animation and since I ran out of time I had to accept this tragic defeat because I was hoping to animate the cat as much as possible.
- I chose the Jump option so having to fit in the jump codes with the final script that was provided which is taking a lot of time and brainpower. In the end I could not figure it out and kept running into more issues so I scrapped the entire bar score system thing. Could not get time to utilize all the assets I collected either;
